12-year-old goalie battling cancer is recognized by opposing team
The Tignish Pee Wee A girls hockey team heard the goalie on an opposing team and her mother were fighting cancer and wanted to help. Their parents, players and coaches put together a Sunshine box filled with personal gifts and encouraging messages to recognize their challenging year.
It was a beautiful example of kindness, sportsmanship and friendship that touched everyone in the arena who witnessed this special moment and gift. There wasn’t a dry eye in the arena! Read full story.
