Recognizing it takes a community
Kathie Neyman is a long time supporter and volunteer at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)—Georgia Chapter. Weekly, Kathie spends an afternoon in the LLS office, sending thank you letters and answering patient calls. She began her journey with LLS after her husband, Henry’s diagnosis.
“We became involved with LLS during Henry’s treatment and saw first-hand the amazing work they do. LLS helps patients and their families navigate scary waters while at the same time working hard to find cures for blood cancers”, says Kathie.
Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day. All of this to say, we believe strongly in LLS and the work they do, and today, years later after Henry’s treatments ended, we continue to volunteer and fundraise for this incredible organization.
Together we fight because we know that everyone wins when cancer loses. Together, our efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives.
Over the years, cancer advancements have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers. But there is still much work that remains to be done, as not all patients win their battle with cancer.”
Join us in recognizing Kathie and all the amazing LLS volunteers who donate their time to helping others! Give Kathie a thumbs up.
